Odd-Arne Jacobsen – “Love has increased with the passing of time” – A true master of the fret board

Virtuoso jazz guitarist Odd-Arne Jacobsen continues his enchanting combinations of solo acoustic music, in his latest EP, “Love has increased with the passing of time”. On this recording, Jacobsen has taken three classic compositions in their own right, and recreated them with his own personal harmonic and rhythmic modifications. The virtuoso player exercises his endless curiosity and sensibility as a musician and guitarist. He does so incrementally as the mood hits him, translating his own inspired feelings, track after track. “Love has increased with the passing of time” pours through the vastness of Odd-Arne Jacobsen’s talent, taking all the time

Forest City & Friends is a super-group that began as a songwriting collaboration between local rock luminaries

“Forest City & Friends might be at the forefront of a wave of exciting hybrid-Rock projects, albums, and bands kicking into gear in 2020” begins a review by Jer at Sleeping Bag Studios. FCAF’s self-titled debut album is a meld of different styles of alternative rock, occasionally slipping into Southern Rock, Beat Jazz and Power Pop while still holding a distinct and original sound. Filled with songs that are melody infused, this album swings from nostalgic to down and dirty, paying homage to classic rock albums of the past. Forest City & Friends self-titled album hits all the spots of your

ALVMNII Drop “NEW WORLD ORDER” Video!

Las Vegas Hip-Hop duo ALVMNII continues to provide real lyricism and truth on their single “NEW WORLD ORDER” produced by Kato On The Track. Check out the music video and follow them on social media! ALVMNII are extremely talented lyricists; clever rhymes, technically sound, intensely intelligent and witty. Add this to the fact that the track slaps, and you are in for a rousing eargasm reminiscent of that classic 90’s sound that so many people bitch and moan about missing and saying that it’s nonexistent. It’s there you just have to dig a bit deeper than you used to.

Three years have passed after the first release and Liber Electro are now back with their long-awaited album “Fuel” signed to the international label BentleyRecords. Pete Vagabond – “Without You” (feat. Kireina Michan) – effortless expanding synths and elegant uplifting vocals

Using an assortment of DAWs since childhood, Pete Vagabond has been making music for many years. Only recently did he decide to share my music. Inspired by what’s trending, combined with the sound of the 90’s, Vagabond makes electronic music, mostly with a definite progressive house twist. His latest single is “Without You” (feat. Kireina Michan). With an element old school candor, the best part of Pete Vagabond’s production is its uncanny ability to grow on you, stick in your head and stay there to the point that you just might find yourself humming the melody or bassline in the

On “Variations” June O owns his style and the environment he thrusts the listener into

June O aka Michael O’Connor, is a 17 year old Colombian/American from Texas. By shining light on his artistic prowess, his EP project “Variations” allows the performer to prove himself as both a singer and rapper. Here he provides various musical experiences for listeners as he moves from rap to rock soundscapes. June O steps outside of his comfort zone, and outside of the box as he experiments with different flows. The addition of alternative styles is a positive step for any upcoming musician’s career. The presence of these stylistic changes on the EP makes a statement that features and

MINOH – “The Witness” – The grit-filled production is near flawless

Jamin Oh (guitar, vocals) and Frank Strozyk (drums) first met in the 5th grade. They then played together in a metal hardcore band called The Bierfront. Twenty years later, the Korean classical guitarist and the German geology professor met again and started to write songs as a side project which in 2019 officially became MINOH. The Asian progressive post-rock duo are currently working on their debut EP, set for release in October 2020. In the meantime they have dropped the stunning single and accompanying video, “The Witness”, which addresses the increasingly dystopian state of the world. MINOH is anything but

Strangers Of Necessity – “Abundance” – dripping with jazzy soul!

Every once in a while, there comes a track that arrives out of the left field and takes people by surprise. One that can prematurely declared an instant classic and actually lives up to the title. I love all types of music, but my taste is irrelevant. What is relevant is the fact that the single, “Abundance” by Midwest duo Strangers Of Necessity, will be considered great years from now. The track speaks to a generation of people struggling to prosper and find harmony, in a confusing, stressful modern environment. The duo bring forth their mindset and experiences, with immaculate flow

The Love Theme – “Hold On” – one mighty swirl of dance-floor groove

“Hold On” is a groovy cauldron of electronic shades and textures. Part dubstep, part soul, part funk, pretty much all breaks; there’s a rhythmic melting pot attitude that runs through the track, which ricochets off the walls with crusty slapping drums and long-dark-tunnel basslines. This is the latest track by The Love Theme – the brainchild of producer Dominic Owen on his Smokersblend record label. The cut is taken off an upcoming album, out later this year. “Hold On” is an absolute monster of a tune with soulful vocal chants, and some funky bluesy guitar throughout. As with a lot

Dj TREVOR SIMPSON: From Banging Kicks And Hollow Basses To Screaming Synths!

After nearly a decade as a San Francisco radio presence on-air and in the clubs, Ultra Records tapped into DJ Trevor Simpson – artist, remixer, performer, and World Town Inc. founder – to mix the 2006 compilation “Ultra. Weekend 2.” A year later, he followed that up by mixing “Ultra. Dance 8”, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard Dance Chart and moved in excess of 80,000 units.

Trevor soon became a highly sought-after remixer, providing official remixes for Lady Gaga’s platinum-selling “Just Dance”, LMFAO’s “I’m in Miami Bitch“, M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes”, and a host of tracks for the likes of Paula Abdul, Dev, Cobra Starship, Nelly Furtado, and Jason Derülo. Cutting his own original music proved the next logical step and something of a dream for him.

“The focus was to write songs,” Trevor says . “I wanted to make a cool collection of dance pop that would lend itself to remixing down the line. The music could work on the radio or on the dance floor. It isn’t about simply appealing to one audience or the other. This is for everyone.”

The first single, “Dagger” (Featuring Niles of The Cataracs), went exactly in that direction. Then into the spanner works went “Madmen”, where Trevor and Kosplay pay tribute to Mad Men with a wicked sample from the AMC TV show intro theme song. On  Tiesto and Swanky Tunes’ “Make Some Noise”, Trevor and Kosplay again team up on the mixing desk.

These tunes pretty much show, how Trevor Simpson manages to absolutely nail every track, every time. On “Dagger” the vocal play sounds fresh and arresting. While the anthemic , reverberated shout-outs  by Niles, add to what’s already a sure fire club bouncer – it’s catchy, sing-along and will stick in your head for days. A pounding beat and heavy chords drive the beat relentlessly. If dance music could rock out, Trevor shows that it’s right here!

From banging kicks and hollow basses to screaming synths, Trevor Simpson continually displays his courage by pushing the musical envelopes on the tracks, and with the artists, that he chooses for his collaborations. It really doesn’t matter what you’re doing with Trevor’s music, full-on clubbing, or even a simple gym workout, his music will pump up tons of energy into your mind and body.

Even though Dj Trevor Simpson has successfully been on the circuit for a while, as an artist, he is without a doubt one of the best acts currently emerging from the massive dance scene. So far he has created some great stompers and a variety of intelligent EDM mixes that cover a wide spectrum of dance sub-genres. The three tracks mentioned here, easily playing testimony to his craft.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he eventually captures the airwaves and makes himself into a huge star, much like David Guetta has. It just takes a little pushing into the mainstream to make those underground sounds really come out.

Thus far in his career, Trevor Simpson has confirmed all the required qualities to create some real dance ‘classics’, giving them a pop edge and really catchy touch. Simply listening through his catalog, you will find yourself encapsulated within the intoxicating beats and rhythms of his compositions and mixes.
