SHAYAN: “Feel” Is Energizing, Calming, Touching, Poetic, Inspiring, Romantic…All At The Same Time!

When an album by any artist features 135 of the most revered musicians, vocalists and multi-Grammy, Emmy and Brit award winning production teams in the business today, you have no choice but to sit up and take notice. When you further discover that the album was recorded between 4 top studios in London over the course of 22 months, you know this is something big. When you read that this is a debut album to be released on Mother’s Day 2014 across North America and worldwide thereafter, you’re in awe.

When you discover that the album is written, arranged, produced, and performed by Shayan. You go, wow! And then you ask…who in heaven’s name is Shayan?

Shayan is an Indian born, up-and-coming International multi-award winning debut music artist, discovered by the legendary interviewer Sir David Frost, for auctioning a portion of his future album’s earnings on eBay and raising US $18,000 in 7 days.

Shayan went to London after tragically losing both his parents at a young age. During his time in the U.K., and after securing bank loans, Shayan has since acquired a Bachelor’s Degree in Audio Engineering from the Alchemea College of Audio Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Music Business Management from the University of Westminster.

Apparently, Shayan unexpectedly acquired his ability to write songs upon losing his mother at a young age. Drawing inspiration from real life scenarios, he currently has a standing catalogue of over 100 songs. Shayan proudly states that his music incorporates the three best elements of Indian music into his work; poetic lyrics, simple yet powerful music arrangements, and crystal clear vocals.

It is obvious that this project has a solid foundation and a profoundly heartwarming initiation, considering Shayan’s background history and achievements thus far. But just what does the upcoming debut album “Feel”, and Shayan bring to today’s over-abundantly laid musical table?

On first listen it may become evident to any well-tuned ear, that Shayan, in his music arrangements, greatly resembles an industry giant and music legend, namely David Foster. Each and every song on the album provides a platform of musical arrangement and production so perfect, that any singer cannot fail, but to deliver outstanding performances. This is the same effect the genius of Foster had on seasoned performers such as Boz Scaggs, Cheryl Lynn, Peter Cetera, Seal, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Barbara Streisand, Whitney Houston, and Andrea Bocelli, to name a very few.

Add this to the fact that Shayan vocally performs his own compositions, thus capturing the exact emotion, honesty, and every soulful nuance that was intended, during the writing process. So wonderful are his performances that you cannot help but to sway to the music and sing along with him.

The most awesome moments for me, undoubtedly being on listening to the ‘innocent, tender, caring and loving’ “Soul” and the ‘fun and almost playful’ “Joy”; two songs on opposite sides of the emotional spectrum. On these tracks Shayan brings grace and passion to the recording with his stellar performance. His voice and emotion have such strong mesmerizing qualities, delivering goose-bumps. It will bring you into a standing ovation all by yourself in an empty room. Much of the 10-track album delivers more of the same, with not a single note or nuance out of place!

You may not be familiar with Shayan yet, at least not by name, but by listening to “Feel” you’ll soon discover what an incredible piece of entertainment this album is. This is for all true music lovers regardless of genre; this is pure music played by talented artists, and not artificially produced, cookie-cut pop. Voices, orchestration, everything!

“Feel” offers something for everyone – soft, soaring melodies, the full force, and fury of string orchestrations, solid drumming, clockwork bass-lines, tasteful guitar interludes, and reflective piano phrases that all blend beautifully with Shayan’s crystal clear vocals and compelling melodies.

I would recommend this album to anyone. This is timeless music that goes beyond genres, styles or any strict classification. “Feel” is energizing, calming, touching, poetic, inspiring, romantic… all at the same time. It contains emotional performances done with superb sensitivity and artistry, which will undoubtedly capture huge audiences of all ages.

Sit on the couch, turn on the surround sound, and crank up the volume, and be prepared to be blown away by a new sensation – Shayan!
