Kidd Cocø: “There” easily captives the listener’s attention

The name “Tropical House” music came about back in 2014 when Australian DJ Thomas Jack coined the phrase as a form of joke, but it caught on and gained immense popularity in 2015, forging a series of exponents since, such as Kygo, Matoma, Lost Frequencies, Seeb and Klingande. The beats for these music often uses elements from Caribbean music particularly Reggae, Dancehall and Soca to get a more mellow island vibe. In recent times Tropical House has been infiltrating mainstream music in a massive way, annoying many Dancehall prophets who say those cool sounds belong to their genre. An 18-year-old

G The Mastermind: “International” Great Beat and a Great Flow!

G The Mastermind, a native of Chicago/Washington DC, supplies listeners with vocals that will captivate and lyrics that pierce the soul. This artist is also an engineer, producer and songwriter for many artists in the DC, Maryland Virginia Area. With his Vlogs like, “Life and Times of the Mastermind: The Daily Grind”, buzzing all over the internet, and his latest Music video “Break you Down” totaling to 2.8 Million Views on Worldstar, He is should be an act to watch-out for in the near future.

G The Mastermind’s newest collaboration off his next upcoming project featuring Hot Lotto and Produced by Superstaar Beats is “International”. Its not so easy to find quality hip hop these days that can also make it to mainstream success, but by some miracle, I think that G The Mastermind will be able to breach that barrier and make the transition from mixtape rapper to mainstream artist. The man has been on his grind, and it looks like its about to pay off with “International”, and his upcoming project.

There are three major reasons to like G The Mastermind; Substance, lyrical versatility, and production. He goes against the grain of the majority of new rappers coming out and strives for lyrical dominance in the game. Simply put, the man has something to say, and its worth listening to. Also, in the same fashion as some pretty big name acts, G The Mastermind produces much of his own music, though he let Superstaar Beats do the honors on this track.

As a whole, his music is very personal, in the sense that G The Mastermind is not afraid to expose himself and tell his story as it really is. Much of his appeal comes from his songs being so down to earth and easy to relate to. You don’t need platinum framed shades to visualize the things he talks about. I listened to some of his tracks including “Coolin”, which is truly an epic song, painting a vivid mural on the walls of your mind. Also worthy of note is the stand out track “Bout That Life” featuring Bacardi and Fat Trel. But there is an abundance of deep and groovy material to enjoy in G The Mastermind’s catalog.

The thing to note, is that all through his tracks, he manages to find himself a nice balance of story telling, reflecting on serious topics, showing off for the ladies, and braggadocio rapping, to make his sound and style work well.  Simply put, you can relate to him. You can also tell he’s got his head on straight, he’s down to earth, he talks to the fans in a way that makes you know he appreciates you and is right there with you. He doesn’t put himself above his fans, he’s modest, he let’s his music speak for itself. Just checkout his Vlogs for undeniable proof of this.

“International” is an awesome taste of whats to come on the new project. All-round, not only does G The Mastermind prove that he has tunes for the radio, but he actually has great songs about love, life, and making your dreams come true even though the odds are stacked against you.

All-in-all the man has great beats and a great flow, while being very easy to understand and easy to relate too. There can be no doubt that he is a product of sweat, tears and relentless grind, that will soon be paying off. Let’s keep watching his progress to the top!
