David Vaters: “A Voice In The Wilderness Volume 2” – wonderfully orchestrated narratives

“A Voice In The Wilderness Volume 2” finds David Vaters in top form. This is a beautiful complex album that highlights the full brilliance of David’s genius, as well as the serenity and wisdom of a long, full life. Those of you who have listened to the previous, ambitious and critically acclaimed project, “A Voice In The Wilderness Volume 1 ”, showcasing a cast of a-league musicians, will know exactly what to expect. As this offers more of the same emotional experiences savored on that recording. Once again David enlightens us with his lyrical wisdom, as he warns about our

This special bond is significant in Alyssa’s career, as it paved the way for her future in music. As Alyssa’s grandfather continued to coach her, she began to learn

Russell Esby: “Post-Sentiments” – The combination of the essential music and deep lyrics hit home in unexpected ways

Russell Esby is a 17 year old multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, from the European island of Malta. Russell says that writing songs and playing music is his escape from everyday life’s complexities. “Post-Sentiments” is Russell’s 6 track EP: exquisitely meandering sonics that author tranquil moods presented alongside insightful lyrical content. With a clear love of personal storytelling, and a keen eye for the problems present throughout relationships, and yet with no desire to feverishly impose his knowledge, Russell weaves a gentle spell that pushes listeners toward awareness at their own pace. If you can embrace the gentlest subplot inside yourself –

JIBE: “Epic Tales of Human Nature” is intensely immersing

The 1994 assembled Dallas TX alt-rock band, JIBE, featuring vocalist Joe Grah, guitarist Toby Bittenbender, Corey Tatro on bass, and drummer Todd Harwell, is back after an eleven year hiatus with a brand new, full-length concept album, entitled “Epic Tales of Human Nature”. Produced by JIBE and Matt Noveskey (Blue October), and mixed by Grammy award-winning producer/engineer, Toby Wright (Metallica, Alice In Chains, Korn), the recording was completed at Orb Recording studios in Austin, TX. Wow! Once every year or two, I pick up an album that is so good it dominates my music preference for weeks or even months

Woochia: “Travels” instantly feels like a quintessential, well-crafted eclectic concoction

London-based French music and video producer, Charly Sauret aka Woochia, is influenced by artists such as Tool, Heretik and Beethoven, which is a fairly good indication of the vast creative spectrum his music is composed within. Expect also, to find a wide variety of blended sounds to accompany his arrangements – like the tones of acoustic instruments (guitars or didgeridoo) with tones usually used for meditation (singing bowls, different types of throat singing) mixed with driving percussion and pumping synth bass lines, to deliver what is described as soft and melodic techno music. A former student of Musicology at the

Mortinus: “Pyramid” maintains a special aura: largely rhythmic and intricately textured

Of all popular genres, electronica has always been one of the more globally conscious, crossing oceans and transcending cultural boundaries in a wordless communication of rhythm and melody. Tempering the experimental tilt of his previous material with groovier, more graceful rhythms and an ear for ethnic melody unmatched by many in the ambient crowd, Mortinus is back with his brand new double-sided release, entitled “Pyramid”. An EP containing two tracks – “Yellow Pencil” and “Gold Pencil”. Danish electronic music producer Mortinus has a Danish father and a half Greenlandic and Danish mother, while he says that there are also traces

AnandL: “Chasing Fame” ft. LUVKUSH – a track bursting with a seductive groove

I like AnandL, I really do. I find something uniquely appealing in his voice that appeals to a sense that other R&B artists of the modern age simply don’t seem to meet.  Anand Lakshminarayan aka AnandL, is an alumnus of UC Berkeley, who graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s a solid musician with strong musical ambition. “Chasing Fame” ft. LUVKUSH is the latest track released by AnandL and to be quite honest, I’m not sure if it is his best recording, considering that the others are just as

Woren Webbe Gets You Hooked In The Emotions Of His Songs

Woren Webbe, is an Indian singer-songwriter and melody maker. At the age of 11 Webbe joined an English music choir where he got a massive opportunity to work with Indian jazz music legends like Laura Santana and Babush Santa. He started working for theatre groups, doing jingles, advertising and music scoring. In 2004 he left the music because he was more interested and focused on his studies.

During 2006 Webbe got over his broken love life, after having been inspired to write sad heartbreaking music which reflected his own situation. This changed his attitude making him more devoted to his music. In 2008 he sent his music to one of the most popular DJ’s in India, “DJ KARMA”, who was the only person playing Hiphop and R&B music in India at the time.

Woren Webbe debuted in the Asian Underground scene for his own new debut album, totalling over 1200000 views on MySpace and gaining over 120,000 fans on Facebook. Webbe reached #1 all over Asia in 2009.

I was introduced to Woren Webbe when I heard the track “Down In Love” featuring Karma. The song got my attention but I needed to hear more tracks before I decided to believe in Webbe’s project. Once I heard “You’re So Beautiful” featuring Efinxace, I knew that I would believe in it.

From beginning to end, this is quality R&B; some upbeat, some soothing, some thoughtful, some nostalgic, but all worth listening to. In general, I find it difficult to find a male vocalist who delivers melodically; with lyrics you can understand, and play around people of all ages, sex and creed. Webbe’s lyrics, tempo, and sound is also relevant to many, varied emotions and moods.

Out of the new breed of R&B singers like Chris Brown, Bobby V and Neyo etc., Woren Webbe needn’t feel inferior, he may only be lacking their wondrous production teams, but if he continues his constant growth in maturity and in his music style, he will certainly be able to take the torch from these guys sooner or later.

Woren Webbe delivers on all counts and could easily become one of the top, lasting performers in the R&B genre. He’s a soulful crooner and he gets you hooked in the emotions of his songs, like on “What About Us” performed together with Efinxcase. The tears just may fall on this one as you feel the boy’s pain. The song takes it back to the origins of R&B lyrically, pain and heartbreak and most of all, relativity.

Woren Webbe’s voice smooths over every track he does, proving to past fans and newcomers alike that he is here to stay. Listen to “Dreams” and “Don’t Walk Away” where he infuses pop melodies with rich, soulful productions. His vocal range and timbre, creates both strong emotion and sentiment for his songs.

Like many of his contemporaries, Woren Webbe seems to possess some love and respect for old-school R&B, and it shows through his solid song-writing skills and his soulful, melodious vocals. This is certainly among the best indie R&B I’ve heard in a while. Webbe is the real deal. He mixes a bit of the 80’s and 90’s R&B and Soul, with today’s modern urban sound, and it comes out sounding great.

Woren Webbe is a significant artist who certainly has a passion for music and best of all, anybody can enjoy his songs, regardless of genre, because they are truly beautiful, and that’s what music is: an art form able to motivate and uplift, with the beauty of its melody and rhythm. Few do it better than Woren Webbe!
