QuinoBLN: “Ein Jahr danach” falls into the ‘good’ music category!

Songwriter and composer QuinoBLN was born and grew up in Spain. After many years of making music there, he had the feeling that the country had become too small for his dreams and desire for adventure. After living in several European cities like Amsterdam and Cologne as well as travelling around a lot, he settled down in the very lively Berlin, which not only grew into his heart and his music, but its acronym became a part of his moniker. On the 14th of February this year QuinoBLN released his electro, dance-pop single, “Ein Jahr danach” through La Santa Compaña

Its existence is more relevant now than ever, and it can be found in some form on Silk Animus’ track, “Hot Vegetables”. Though Silk was obviously not the first person to experiment with the psychedelic, dreamlike aesthetic with heavy bass, he has cohesively conceptualized the sound here. It’s one whose sound and visual style is rooted in modern internet culture. Critics and fans alike can agree on one thing; it’s fresh. It’s aesthetically pleasing, it’s layered, it’s new, it’s modern, it’s

Gp: “The Bleach Tape” – best savored in your bedroom!

Gp’s latest release, “The Bleach Tape”, feels like the realization of a voice he’s been working towards: one that is both fluid and all angles, vacillating between naked introspection and pushing us as far away as possible. He is whittling away carefully at the tendencies he’s probably always had, remaining confident that he’ll light upon something that feels fresh and honest. He sticks to introspective territory His molasses-thick vocals roll through tongue-twisting wordplay, battling to be heard over his bass-heavy beats. Most of the album has this consistent sound of dirty, low-fi, grimy drum and chords. Gp seems to be dragging us

Donny Richmond – A Creative Genius who remain true to his core beliefs

Donny Richmond makes a career of expanding the borders of what it means to be a performer. All the while, he seeks to remain true to his core beliefs, and the faith that sustains him. Donny’s latest international single release, “A Satisfied Mind”, is a step back in time – an intriguing remake of the #1 Porter Wagoner hit of the 1950’s, written by Jack Rhodes and Joe Hayes. The late, great Porter Wagoner was the host for Donny’s initial appearance on The Grand Ole Opry in 1997. And Donny is a longtime admirer of Porter’s laid back style. As

Jim Vierra & Friends: “Hopeful Eyes” – wonderfully put together

Jim Vierra & Friends deliver quality in bucket-loads!

Jim Vierra is a Tracy, California-based songwriter who recently took “the big step to record some of his original songs in Nashville.” He and his friends collaborate with great vocal talent and a top-notch producer, resulting in some great Christian and Country music, which is strange, because Jim himself states: “What is funny is I don’t even listen to much Country music at all. I love Jazz and old rock n’ roll. The music just comes to me and happens to have that country flare.”

And just when you think it could never get any better, Vierra comes along with the track “Hopeful Eyes” and proves us wrong!

The video of the song, which was directed by Odririle VEE Sento & Jim Vierra himself, was filmed and recorded in Botswana, Africa. The message, of both the song and video, attempts to communicate to the world, how we need to treat our children. Lyric writing was shared by Jill Lacara & Jim Vierra, while Jim also took care of the music.

If you like regular old run-of-the-mill cookie-cutter country-gospel music, then step aside, as Jim Vierra & Friends Productions moves up a notch here; “Hopeful Eyes” almost slides into World Music territory. The song is soulful and uplifting with a strong message and solid vocal performance by Enock Gore. The music arrangement by Odirile VEE Sento & Jim Vierra, as well as the vocal harmonies, are wonderfully put together, while the African-flavored Rap interlude by Vamutejure at about the 3 minute mark, give “Hopeful Eyes” a truly authentic, international feel; an all-round a superb effort.

I shouldn’t have been surprised though, because a run through the Jim Vierra & Friends’ catalog, quickly demonstrates much how quality is infused into their work.  From the Country tracks, “Daddy”, “Worth Waitin’ For” and “You’re So Beautiful” to the Christian stuff like, “Jesus Inside Me”, “Live Each Day”,“Walls” and the exceptional “You Love Me”,  Jim Vierra & Friends cross many styles and sounds, but one trait and condition is maintained through all of their tracks- and that is, elevated artistic performances on either side of the mixing desk, and at all levels.

We as listeners may dislike or have a predilection for various genres and styles, but quality cannot be ignored, and Jim Vierra & Friends deliver it in bucket-loads!
