The Band of the Hawk & Noah Archangels – New Album “The Maschine Wars: LevitiKush”

This recent album contains 19 tracks with each song having its own unique sound. The instrumentals range from smooth and punchy to hard-hitting and grungy. This album only has 3 tracks with vocals and those tracks are the intro Evol featuring Klashher, The Glow featuring AG Da Coroner, and Chariots of Fire featuring Yeaux Majesty. The Band of the Hawk stay true to original hip hop sounds and flows so expect nothing less from Yeaux Majesty, AG Da Coroner, and Klashher. The instrumentals are dope to vibe too even without vocals. The bass in each track sounds amazing on headphones.

Bad Bones: “High Rollers” is 5 star material!

Bad Bones blows the doors off the rest of the industry with their “High Rollers” album. What makes the Italian hard rock group so special is a combination of their musicianship and singing. These guys can really play their instruments and sing the roof off of any location. They have mastered melody, inventiveness and matched it with excellent chord progressions. They understand how bone-crushing guitar riffs hit the listener and create the power and angst just as much as sheer volume does. On top of that, Bad Bones’ tunes will have you singing along in the car, in the shower,

Maxwell Aden: “Heartbeat” – ready to dominate airwaves everywhere

So this is what modern pop perfection sounds like from an American. Each sound is subtly layered to pop radio perfection and better than the one before it. By the time you get to the closing bar – you’ve already hit replay and just kick back and enjoy what could be among the best underground pop tracks of the year from the USA. So which track am I talking about? Well, its “Heartbeat”, by Atlanta, GA based artist Maxwell Aden. A once broke college kid, who has progressed to a co-sign by RAab Stevenson – coach and producer for Rihanna,

PAUL BARRERE & ROGER COLE: “IN MY TIME OF DYING” – From Gospel To Blues

This is the kind of down and dirty, hard-core, unadulterated, ‘slap-ya-momma’ type of blues that I love. Paul Barrere & Roger Cole are definitely in their element here. “In My Time Of Dying” feels as if Cole and Barrere had been wanting to make a track like this for a long time. This song enables them to cut loose and ‘do their thang’. Nothing fancy, nothing prissy – an upright bass, an acoustic guitar, a voice and not much else.  This thing just plain ROCKS!

This track could easily have come out at the time of the Chicago Blues explosion during the late forties and early fifties. Often you listen to one of those seminal Blues artists from that era and wonder, “what if they had captured this person at the top of their game, doing some of their better material with better musicians, in a more modern recording studio?” Well, here is that recording!

Barrere&Cole-400There is only one way to describe this recording and that would be sheer joy! There’s nothing phony or forced on this work; it’s because Paul Barrere & Roger Cole are in their zone, unleashing the Blues as well anybody possibly ever could on “In My Time Of Dying”.

If a person has any affection for this genre and doesn’t love this song as soon as they put it on, then he or she must be seriously out of tune. There’s no hidden meaning here or elaborated arrangement to absorb; this is the ABC of how it all started back in the day. In fact, if you’re an established musician, you should play this occasionally, to make sure that you haven’t strayed too far from the basic heart and soul of what we bastardize as rock music today.

If you’re only just listening, then buckle up, relax and enjoy the ride, because Paul Barrere & Roger Cole will be chauffeuring you in the best possible manner. The bass and guitars pound like a slow train through your brain, while the vocal is strong as ever. Cole and Barrere obviously had a vision their minds when they produced this track. This is what modern-day blues artists want to sound like, and older blues players could have potentially sounded like.

Paul Barrere & Roger Cole, capture the fury, the soulfulness, and the fire better than most on this version. Anyone who doubts that rock and roll is just bastardized blues should give this a listen. Arranged by both Cole and Barrere on the album “Riding the Nova Train” , the song was originally released in 2013 but is only gaining attention now. Barrere contributed the bluesy guitar runs heard throughout the single, while Cole recorded, edited, mixed, and mastered the track.

“In My Time of Dying” is a gospel song that has been recorded by numerous musicians. A couple of well-known versions that come to mind are by Led Zeppelin on their 1975 “Physical Graffiti” album and Bob Dylan on his self-titled debut album. The original recording was a traditional gospel song recorded by Blind Willie Johnson, titled “Jesus Make Up My Dying Bed”

The single by Paul Barrere & Roger Cole is currently available via platforms such as iTunes and Amazon Music. More information is available at www.betterdazemusic.com.
