3 Phase – ready for genre domination!

The names Chirag Shah, Prasham Deliwala and Melvin Saldana may in themselves not ring a familiar bell in your ear right now. Probably, neither will the moniker ‘3 Phase’, nor their 6 track self-titled EP. It’s logical, it’s the law of the industry’s hype machine – cast a light on the big label clones, and leave the independent creatives in the shadows. Luckily the internet has a different set of rules.  On hearing the 3 Phase EP, the lofty ambition, the focus and dedication of this creative collective of producers, songwriters and vocal talent, makes sense – its six tracks

Eddy Mann: “Simple Things” will leave you breathless and in a state of euphoria

At first as a musician, I created music, then as an A&R executive I challenged it, now as a music reviewer, I explore it.  Of the three, the latter is the most difficult. Criticizing or appraising somebody else’s creation is no easy task. Enjoying it is one thing, understanding it another, and translating it is even more arduous. The funny thing is, I’ve always hated describing music. It’s such a volatile and subjective art, that nobody should really have the authority or the presumptuous audacity to judge the level of enjoyment or emotion any one piece of music is capable

To keep their fast growing forward momentum, GZRUS are set to officially release the “GZ UP” EP on the 10th of November, through Carrillo Music, one of the hottest independent electronic music labels, based in Phoenix, Arizona.

GZRUS strike a great balance between just plain fun dance music and a fresh sound to serve our dance floors. EDM’s “4 on the floor” house music streak has gotten stale through the years, but the “GZ UP” EP innovates and plays around with the formulas. GZRUS add infectious vocals and uplifting melodies that don’t simply rehash old ideas.

From “Put ‘Em In A Coffin ft. Money B” to “Ammo ft. Drop City Yacht Club & Netta B” and “Really Tho ft. Opio Of Hieroglyphics”, Trevor Simpson and Kosplay take dance music to another level, and it’s not the same old ‘another’ level you may be used to either. I’m not sure where these two come from, but it may not even be from this planet!

Simply wicked, this is the stuff, creativity at its highest point! And even though the songs on this EP are really beat-blasting, dance-moving, addictive, they have a comfortable, almost relaxed vibe about them. GZRUS would call it the ‘GZ UP feel’, which is what we interpret as the coolest grooves and melodies injected into these songs.

Each track on the “GZ UP” EP really meets its standards and doesn’t disappoint in any department – composition, arrangement, performance and production. If you love uplifting electronic dance music with more than just a wicked beat, the GZRUS duo is what you’re looking for. Without a doubt, this is another EDM winner from the Carrillo Music label!
