AMARU: “CHAMPAGNE ATTITUDE (RAP-TITUDE MIX)” is totally on fire!

AMARU – a singer-songwriter and a trained actor, originally from the Republic of Suriname residing in The Netherlands since 1991 – has found critical success with enough Pop, Rock, R&B and Electronic influenced songs that there’s plenty of demand for more, but there’s nothing like hearing the gloriously hard-nosed Dutch artist rap a beat to shreds. This is something he does not often do. Now on his latest release – “CHAMPAGNE ATTITUDE (RAP-TITUDE MIX)” – we get to savor just that. The song is rap remix of the title track of his debut album, and is a completely new version,

KC Sisters: “Walk With Me” – sincere, authentic and absolute!

The KC Sisters aren’t old enough to remember when radio programmed pop records next to country, rock, folk, and beyond, but their artistic DNA tells them that’s the way music was meant to be heard. Their sound on the EP, “Walk With Me”, is like a warm embrace from a loved one. It’s sincere, authentic and absolute, taken from a legacy of sound that comes from their fondness for the all-girl groups of the 1960s. Edifon: “Instagram” wraps the listener in its velvety smooth presence one ‘gram’ at a time!

Songwriter and singer Edifon was raised in Atlantic City and has been creating music since he was a young boy in the church choir. Being in the church choir where his father was the minister, Edifon started writing gospel songs and then expanded his horizons towards RnB, Hip Hop and other genres.

He draws inspiration from his experiences and from life itself to create music anybody can relate to. Writing for other independent artist and groups has helped hone his writing skills, while still maintaining the gift of a golden voice. In fact, Edifon considers himself a songwriter first, and then a singer.

Edifon

Edifon has just recently released his new single entitled, “Instagram”, where you can decide for yourself whether he should be considered a songwriter first and then a singer, or even vice versa. My personal opinion is that we have a tie to the highest common denominator.

The track reminds me of something that is raw, pure and real, the kind of thing that cannot be limited but only magnified. Because it hits the soul and touches people.

“Instagram” wraps the listener in its velvety smooth presence one ‘gram’ at a time. The slick and soulful production dances on your palette inviting you into a world of textured delight. The maturity is evident in the writing and content development which takes stock of current social media trends and its overt impact on relationships.

This is classic RnB in its style and storytelling, but has today’s modern edge in its soundscape. This is soul-filled, authentic music appreciated by generations – future or past. From the performance to the production and arrangement, “Instagram” is authentic. This is the soundtrack of modern lifestyles through a personal experience penned in verses of emotional transparency.

The song transports the listener into an era where bearing one’s soul in the name of love was the expectation.  Layered in passion and honesty, the style of this song captivates the listener with a story that we all know too well. We see images of someone; we read their stories, their pleasures, and their pain. We get to know them, without ever meeting them, to the point where everything becomes embedded in the complexity of desired love.

The richness of Edifon’s tones will melt any hearts that listen.  Not only is he a great singer, but he’s a charismatic performer. Real or imaginary, it sounds like personal material coming from Edifon, and that’s moving to me.  And it’s not just the substance, or the content of what he’s singing about, and the delivery, it’s also the music, which sits really tight behind the vocals.

Most of what people classify as contemporary R&B today is actually just pop music and loud EDM with zero rhythm and no soul to be spoken of. And if you’re thinking when the next authentic, classic R&B song is going to be released, it’s safe to say that this in fact, is it!
