New York, NY – A Plea For Peace, Sanity And Gun Control. In Response To The Recent Pittsburgh Synagogue And California Mass Shootings. America is plagued by hatred and wanton, senseless gun violence. And many more such tragedies have occurred over the years.  Something has to be done. Robert Miller, leader of the band Project Grand Slam, decided to do something. He has written and released today

Kaytlyn Cate – The New Single – “Making My Heart Feel Like”

Singer/songwriter Kaytlyn Cate hails from the picturesque Cascade Mountain range of the Pacific Northwest. Upon the release of her first single, Pitchfork called Kaytlyn “the alt-rock genre’s best kept secret”. Writing about the deepest emotional issues that belie youth and innocence, Kaytlyn’s lyrical work addresses the themes of love, hope, fear, hurt, heartache, and haunting insecurity. In addition to writing songs for other artists, Kaytlyn has been hard at work on her forthcoming EP, ‘The Blue Hour’, with producer David Samuel. Kaytlyn has been reinventing herself as an artist since her first debut. She felt Darkside was not representing who she

Mike LePond’s Silent Assassins: “Pawn and Prophecy” – Dense, dynamic and super tight

There is no doubt that “Pawn and Prophecy” is going to garner some serious praise. This album puts the ‘classic’ back in metal in a definitive kind of fashion. The album represents the direction many true metal fans hoped and presumed the genre would go after all the ridiculous sub-genres that crawled out of the woodwork over the past few years. This album basically sows the seeds for a whole new generation of power metal – one with technique, speed and aggression that has no regard for radio-friendly or corporate rock elements. There is no denying the awe-inspiring quality and

Newborn: “Shadow Of Your Heart” – atmospheric, beefy, and more than a little radio friendly!

The single, “Shadow Of Your Heart” is a successful demonstration of the progression of Newborn as a band. With emblematic lyrically content, well-crafted vocals, and brilliant instrumentation, this is the gem of the band’s catalog thus far. Cathartically channeling their 90’s grunge predecessors, the beautiful bone-chilling arrangement takes in various genre influences to deliver something intrinsically their own. The band’s credentials as musicians have never been in question since their debut release, but even so, the seamless nature with which they gel is impressive. And while the driving rhythm section and guitars never fail to keep things interesting, it’s vocally

Natalie Jean: “All I Want” offers up a perspective of love, fidelity and relationships

Authenticity is one of those indefinable traits that many artists search and pursue, but never quite find. You can’t build authenticity into a song through a particular gathering of words and phrases; you can’t swagger, pine or shout your way there. It just happens when you put yourself out there, daring people to listen, asking the audience to believe whatever your stories are trying to communicate. It’s an achievement that award winning, multi-nominated singer-songwriter, and Grammy voting member, Natalie Jean manages by never over singing, by using lyrical poetry that sounds like it exists now, as well as in a

AnandL: “Chasing Fame” ft. LUVKUSH – a track bursting with a seductive groove

I like AnandL, I really do. I find something uniquely appealing in his voice that appeals to a sense that other R&B artists of the modern age simply don’t seem to meet.  Anand Lakshminarayan aka AnandL, is an alumnus of UC Berkeley, who graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s a solid musician with strong musical ambition. “Chasing Fame” ft. LUVKUSH is the latest track released by AnandL and to be quite honest, I’m not sure if it is his best recording, considering that the others are just as good, with slightly differing slants in sound and style. That being said “Chasing Fame” offers a number of splendid moments and an all-round interesting R&B arrangement.

AnandL quickly settles into the comfort zone he has established over his last couple of songs. It’s a good thing, in that he allows his emotive voice to soar while he generates a real kind of genuine soul in the sound. The track combines pleasant call and response type vocal harmonies together with a throbbing beat.

I have always looked back to during the late 90s and early 00s with a certain degree of fondness. I have a small amount of nostalgia for the music that dominated the charts during this period, mainly due to the brilliance of some producers like The Neptunes and Timbaland.

“Chasing Fame” sees AnandL unite with LUVKUSH to deliver a track bursting with a seductive groove and a smooth thumping rhythm, reminiscent of those carefree 90s and early 00s. Nothing here is as immediate as AnandL’s previous track, “Read Receipt”.

Instead “Chasing Fame” is filled with an intricate melody and a hypnotic groove that aurally seduce the listener into submission. With its delicate synth notes and steady hand claps, its scrumptious sound-pads and slow, bottomless bass, AnandL wonderfully constructs a track that slowly works it’s way underneath your skin.

The voices are in fine form too, with the soulful vocals elegantly sweeping over these slow burning bars. It’s the singers’ versatility, as well as the production, that keeps “Chasing Fame” sounding fresh and enjoyable.

AnandL succeeds in being utterly convincing, utilizing his rich, inviting voice to great effect. It’s an infectious track that once again highlights the artist’s inventiveness, as well as his ability to command a track – irrespective of who he shares it with.

What’s remarkable is that a part of the song’s charm lies in the fact that it sounds like the artists are having fun in the studio. This infectious, positive harmony comes shining right through “Chasing Fame” ft. LUVKUSH.
