Harmless Habit: “FRONTERROR” – a marvel of rock hard timelessness

Harmless Habit sound as confident as a band that have already paid their dues, and established a sound that is just as good or better than the bands that inspired them, and now give us a two way mirror into the rawness of their creative process with their 6-track album, “FRONTERROR” which feels heavy, hypnotic, emo(tional) and transformative. The best three words to describe this recording would simply be…TURN THIS UP!  The album kicks off full force and doesn’t really take the pedal off the metal until very late in the album, and only for a few seconds. So if driving,

Musicbyko: “Life In Element” – a melded perspective derived from a focused vision

Rap and hip-hop is no longer strictly about an artist’s lyrical ability, there is a series of beats and melodies that need to come together in perfect harmony to create the sonic excellence that fans demand to hear. To that end, Musicbyko is the embodiment of real modern rap in a production heavy hip-hop environment that has very little care for bars. This Bay Area rapper from Oakland, CA, has a message of ambition and a constitution of excellence that he is attempting to establish within his craft. It is clear that he has grown into more than just a

Love Ghost: “Scarlet Letter” – an at once compelling and distressful storyline

The scarlet letter is meant to be a symbol of shame, a stigma someone bears for a misdeed he or she has committed. The term often refers to public shame forced upon a person as a means of ostracizing him or her. Those branded with a scarlet letter feel the punitive vengeance of an unforgiving society. Instead it becomes a powerful symbol of identity, in the latest video of the song, “Scarlet Letter”, taken off the album “Lobotomy” by the Los Angeles alternative rock band, Love Ghost. The video tells the story of the band’s violist, Mya Greene and her

Vessel Decimal – “CONVERSION: Level One” guided by a sense of purpose

The appeal of Vessel Decimal – a band founded in Cleveland, Ohio in 2007 – lies in the sheer strength of the songwriting. Moreover there are powerful riffs, and you’ll get lost in the grooves, absorbing the punishing crush of the bottom end, but also reflecting on the narrative elements found on the brand new album, “CONVERSION: Level One”. Vessel Decimal are all about the balance found in the music, and the spiraling riffs that define their sound demonstrate that time and time again. It’s nice though that the band takes the time to back off, to allow you to

The Saylor: “Young” – definitely knows it’s way around catchy music and its mainstay appeal

With the advent of music platforms and streaming services, music discovery for the fan and reach for the artist is easier than ever. Even still, it doesn’t prevent many artists from flying under the radar, remaining relatively unknown. As a listener, when you find one of those unknown artists, the thought of “why isn’t this guy more popular?” comes to the forefront. Pop creative The Saylor is one such artist. I hadn’t heard of The Saylor or this track until I saw it on Spotify. His lyrics and instrumentation are one of a kind and the vocals combine to make a unique listening experience. He blends elements of Hip-hop, EDM, Pop, and R&B to make his own sound.

The Saylor has a way with words – and with catchy hooks, too. The directness of his lyrics resonate strongly behind polished production. Catchy and structured – which makes it all the more special – his creativity is on full display here on his latest single, “Young”.

Based in Columbus, Ohio, The Saylor (a.k.a. The Bopper Dropper) is taking music by storm with the release of a new single every two weeks. Credited as a producer and songwriter for his tracks, The Saylor’s has also been noted for his exciting performance for Victoria’s Secret models in NYC.

While all of this helps toward building a headlining name, at the same time he demonstrates that he definitely knows his way around catchy pop music and its mainstay appeal. And as release after release it translates to his growing popularity, he’s showing that hard work and dedication to the craft does in fact pay off.

While he has released previous projects, this is undoubtedly one of his most impactful and impressionable release yet. “Young” highlights the switching of smooth singing, backed by passionate harmonies and a rhythmic, almost tropical like backing beat. The Saylor, former member of the funk band V!bes, has given us a spectacular mix of Pop and EDM, along with a story backed by a chorus that could fill out an arena.

In this awe-inspiring track The Saylor takes all that makes you human and lifts it up to let you know that there’s something bigger out there to be savored and enjoyed. “Young” also highlights what makes this artist, not only a spectacular musician, but also an extraordinary human with a focused vision on life.

The Saylors vocal talent is shown off well because of not only how he sings, but the way he hits the notes with such ease at different points. There’s something extremely captivating about this song. The verse, which instantly pulls the listener in, gradually picks up from the airy piano and synths to build a energetic electronic effect and clapping in the background, all which lead up to the irresistible chorus.

No matter what genres you are a fan of, don’t set aside this record because of genre labeling. Take the time to listen to the song and you’ll be hooked. The Saylors lyricism, vocals, and production are all astounding and make listening to “Young” an unforgettable experience.
