Midas Well: “3am”- moments of pure body-high pleasure

Midas Well is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist currently residing in Austin, Texas. His album “Golden Rule” is coming soon to all streaming platforms via Jurnt Entertainment, along with his single “3am”. Midas raises the stakes in this stunning narrative. In lesser hands, all this creative weight could feel leaden. But Midas proves himself to be a craftsman, and gets the job done. Midas Well is a great musical artist and his new single shows that in a beautiful showcase of music.  “Golden Rule” is an album with a generous helping of highlights, not least because of Midas’ enviable vocal versatility and affinity for dramatic song craft, an irresistible combination that he forges completely on “3am”.

A guilty ballad sighing through a recalcitrant drumbeat, pummeled by a booming bassline, where the buoyant Lothario is the lovelorn confessor, “3am” is a sultry concentration sensuality. There’s something to be said for the constant, propulsive pacing, reflecting a struggle to find focus, over caressed chords and warm harmonies. This is a trip to create some of the most imaginative R&B music around. The production is exceptional, with keys and ambient noise offset by whip-crack drum programming, and moments of pure body-high pleasure.

Midas Well’s voice, particularly when moodily lamenting or soaring in its upper mid-range, is a beautiful instrument that ties the groove together. With a calming-yet-dangerous vibe, “3am” is a strong album opener that accurately introduces what is to come.

In this passionate track that easily brings listeners into a euphoric state, Midas uses intricate storytelling to get his message across. With an impressive range, he masters getting many different sounds to jell together cohesively. His unyielding vocals paired with sultry sonics introduce a record for those looking to experience a mood-inducing vibe.

My intuition says that “3am” is sure to expand Midas Well’s presence towards cross-mixing music genres, but we can trust that he will never stop providing the authentic R&B and soul flavors that many modern-day urban artists lack.

To be honest, I listened to the other tracks on the album, and it is clear that Midas has a lot of incredible qualities: world-class singer and skilled songwriter among them. Another is his willingness to commit to an aesthetic direction, even if it’s not the obvious path. Put another way, Midas Well has the vision, ability and confidence to follow his muse. Not every artist is capable of doing that.

Each song on the album showcases Midas Well’s immense vocal talent and knack for catchy hooks. The singer needs no auto-tune to hold a steady note, a factor that will appeal to more traditional audiences who value an unadulterated voice and raw ability.

The vibrant instrumentals are also a vital contribution to the project’s varying moods. But you’ll be able to savor all of its pleasures once it’s released. In the meantime grab a hold of “3am”, which is a perfect testament to Midas Well’s talent for exciting and creative modern music.
