Chicago music artist Sarantos, has just released his 5th song in the series that will make up his new album, and more importantly raise money for charity. As anyone who follows out magazine regularly already knows by now, Sarantos is dedicated to donating 33% of any music-related sales from his work straight to charity. For “I’d Give Anything”, the latest single and video release, Sarantos has chosen the beneficiary to be St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Sarantos currently has over 1M twitter followers, 310K Facebook likes and is rated #1 on Reverbnation in the world in the pop genre. Sarantos will be releasing a new song on the 1st Tuesday of every month, a new music video on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, a new Funny video of the month on the 3rd Tuesday of every month and a new Whiteboard video on the 4th Tuesday of every month!
Sarantos, who has written over 2000 songs in his career thus far, has undergone several personal challenges with his father passing away two years ago after a long hard-fought battle with lung cancer, dealing with personal health issues like asthma and allergies which affected his singing style and just going through life’s ups and downs. That’s why Sarantos’ main motivation to make music is to raise money to help health organizations. In fact 33% of any music related sales are going straight to charity!
The 11 charities chosen for each song include American Cancer Society, American Lung Association, Make-a-Wish Foundation, American Heart Association, St Jude’s, Hellenic Academy, ASERF, American Red Cross, Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Chicago Medical School, Thanioton Society & the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Of the new song, “I’d Give Anything”, Sarantos says: “This is a harsh rock song about a desperate man who remembers the love he used to have. He would give anything for his heart to be happy.”
This fifth monthly release takes Sarantos back to his rock-orientated roots. And straight off the bat this is another great song, the guitar work is incredible, very controlled and smooth, as well as the arrangement from Sarantos, which is dead on.It has a memorable chorus and a great middle eight section to match.
“I’d Give Anything”, marks a great return to the sound that worked so well on the first songs I heard by the artist. Although Sarantos delves in a diversity of genres and styles, I personally feel he makes excellent pop-rock music and should continue that trend more often.
Sarantos finds his comfort zone in the use of meaningful lyrics and simple chords perfectly blended in many different sounding songs. This is what makes his music so warm and tasty for a variety of palettes.
Ripe with sensibility, sensitivity and more melody than you’re likely to hear anywhere else, the track would sit nicely on any Beatles album. A soaring song which epitomizes what Sarantos does best. “I’d Give Anything” starts gently, and then builds to a glorious finale complete with a powerful sing along chorus.
As always, excellent songwriting and musicianship are the hallmarks of Sarantos’ music. This single will not disappoint.
