LU – Ride or Die” ft. Omari Night and DazeOnEast – a surreal and identifiable tone!

Signed to Big Top Entertainment L.L.C, along with the production team Cali 303, Luis Torres aka LU, is a Mexican singer-songwriter and engineer, born in the city of Guadalajara. He migrated with his parents at the age of one where his family settled in Colorado. Produced by Kxvi, LU’s debut single “Ride or Die”, also features R&B singers-songwriters, Omari Night and DazeOnEast. This is perfect melodic R&B/Pop record, as LU and his crew know melody, quickly laying down the narrative’s overriding tone: “Girl You Know that I am down for you, in the fire shooting rounds for you, ain’t no

Gabe Lopez – “End Of The Lost Summer” deserves top level recognition!

It is extremely rare to come across an artist like Gabe Lopez, who is poised, multi-talented, bold, self-confident yet humble – and surprisingly, one whose name you should already be very familiar with. The reasons are evident. Gabe Lopez is a Billboard Top 5 singer-songwriter and producer, who has produced and written recent music for Belinda Carlisle, New Kids On The Block, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Twice, Key and other multi-platinum artists. Downtown Mystic – ‘3-Way Heartbreak’ – more than just a nostalgic listening experience!

One of the things Downtown Mystic notoriously excel at is masking emotional lyrics with upbeat, driving-with-the-windows-rolled-down kind of melodies. Their double-side single, ‘3-Way Heartbreak’, which also includes the track ‘Same Old Lover’, recorded in 1983, has all that and more. While for most other contemporary bands, it’s hard to recapture the real magic of rock n’ roll, for Robert Allen and his crew, this comes easy. They grew up during rock’s golden era, hence Downtown Mystic’s music lives up to the genre’s legacy, rather than just riding on its coattails. The ‘3-Way Heartbreak’ single, on the Sha-La Music, Inc. catalog,

Originally from the UK, Paul Bailey aka P Bailey grabbed his first musical influences from Motown and Muscle Shoals, as well as Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. Without any formal training, the 5 octave singer, developed his singing and writing style by listening to artists like, Ron Isley, Donny Hathaway, Luther Van dross, Prince and James Brown. Bailey had his first major break when Rick James sampled his track ‘Part time Lover’ for the sound

Jona Da King – “Roots Of Love” EP – balancing rhymes, and soulful crooning|

Jona Da King is a hip-hop artist from Toronto, Ontario, based in Edmonton, Alberta. Jona is set to release his EP “Roots Of Love” which is scheduled to drop September 30th 2020. The artist has an eclectic musical palette which is colored by Hip-hop, R&B, Pop, as well as Jazz and Rock tones. We checked out his prime tracks in anticipation of the EP, and if the goal of this release is to make a breakout statement that Jona Da King is getting seriously started, he’s succeeded, delivering some of the smoothest, most mellifluous urban sounds we’ve heard in music

Berani – “Cut And Taste” strikes an incredible balance of disparate elements

Berani is an electronic beat maker with a diverse sound spectrum and a tendency to produce bouncing rhythms or spacious and relaxing aural experiences. In a short time span, this emerging artist out of Byron Bay in Australia, has discerning music fans and casual listeners paying attention. The sound design throughout his latest single “Cut And Taste” is what we’ve come to expect from this creative top tier producer: popping percussion, basslines that melt like butter and a healthy dose of twisted horns to make everything bump in a soul-like fashion. Sprinkled around the track are sonic effects that keep

EsZ – “Liquor & Emotions” – introspective and emotional

Hip-hop has been cranking out bangers and high energy anthems for decades, but the average genre historian is well aware that dark or emotional thoughts on a chill backdrop is not a foreign concept for the game. After all, profound moodiness feels rather natural for a culture that grew out of urban plight and the trauma of purposely disenfranchised people. It makes sense that at least some mellow tunes in the genre, reflect deep-thinking speculation, in what artist EsZ, describes as thoughts on “life, growth and fake friends” in his track “Liquor & Emotions”. The song is a drunk text

Teufelskreis: “Eifersucht” is Truly a Great Rock Release

Teufelskreis is a quality heavy rock Austrian band delivering German language music that fuses elements of metal and industrial in a manner very likely to appeal to fans of Rammstein, Oomph! “Eifersucht” (jealousy) their third regular studio album has been released with their new partner NRT-Records.

Teufelskreis consists of Mike Mr.Hyde Novak–Drums, Friedl Belze Schuetz–Guitars, Chris Dieselchrist Schoen–Bass, Ronny Mephisto Platzer–Vocals. Some people say to truly enjoy German language music you need to know German. That is not true; you don’t need to know German at all, to enjoy this music. The guitar riffs are on fire, the drums are awesome, and the vocals are solid –that’s all you need!

Teufelskreis’ latest album is my personal favorite and arguably the best they’ve ever created. There’s a huge difference with the band’s chemistry and specifically the progression of their guitar riffs into memorable choruses. “Eifersucht” is a disk of hard rocking, melodic music with terrific vocals by Ronny Mephisto Platzer that can be understood (if you speak German obviously) all the way through.

Friedl Belze Schuetz (guitar), , Chris Dieselchrist Schoen (bass) and Mike Mr.Hyde Novak (drums) once again work together in a way that keeps every song rocking along with head bobbing, foot stomping precision (this is opposed to music where the drums and bass merely keep time in the background).

There are many bands trying to be hard these days. Teufelskreis do not have to try. Clearly their music is what comes naturally to them. “Eifersucht” is not the awful manufactured Metal made in the United States. This is straight-up dark Hard Rock, the way only the Austrians, Germans or Nordic bands can make it.

It didn’t take me more than a few listens to really get involved with what Teufelskreis were trying to accomplish with “Eifersucht”, but it is truly a great release. It’s definitely immediately accessible and hits you right in the face instantly. Nine tracks where the band is tighter than ever, and the tunes just pound and pound away at you.

I love that fine line the band balances between Rough and Melodic. It isn’t more one way than the other, rather a perfect balance. It’s hard to believe this is just four guys, and all that noise isn’t just distortion; there are very intricate rhythmic and melodic changes underneath each song.

“Eifersucht”, as a whole is heavy, quick-tempo’ed and aggressive music; a superb effort with many memorable tracks; personal favorites include Schüchtern, Seitensprung, Eifersucht (Radio Edit), Verdammt  and Im Angesicht. But every song on the new album is great and you will not find yourself skipping by tracks.

To me, Teufelskreis has elevated the genre to a more respectable level not only by avoiding the scream-metal route, but also by writing songs which cover a wide range of emotions. Any fan of hard rock will find something interesting about this group, especially if you are tired of the same old screaming rock so prevalent in today’s hard rock and metal music.

Some albums you have to listen to several times before songs ‘grow’ on you, and sometimes on the first listen, songs will reach out and grab your eardrums and won’t let go. “Eifersucht”, is definitely in that second category. It’s a solid album that shows that Teufelskreis are secure enough in their own sound and that they aren’t going to sell out to the latest trend.
