Love Ghost – “Pillz (The Sky is Falling)” will now appeal to a much wider audience

It’s always great to see a band evolve and branch out in new directions. What is even better is to see them succeed at this difficult endeavor. With their latest single –  “Pillz (The Sky is Falling)”, we see L.A. based alternative rock band Love Ghost continue on the path of evolution into much more than a rock band . They incorporate trap beats, rock grit and rap verses, to really diversify their sound on this recording. It’s really impressive to hear this sonic distinctiveness which demonstrates this band’s talent, and their fingers on the beating pulse of modern trends. I

Gabe Lopez – “End Of The Lost Summer” deserves top level recognition!

It is extremely rare to come across an artist like Gabe Lopez, who is poised, multi-talented, bold, self-confident yet humble – and surprisingly, one whose name you should already be very familiar with. The reasons are evident. Gabe Lopez is a Billboard Top 5 singer-songwriter and producer, who has produced and written recent music for Belinda Carlisle, New Kids On The Block, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Twice, Key and other multi-platinum artists. Downtown Mystic – ‘3-Way Heartbreak’ – more than just a nostalgic listening experience!

One of the things Downtown Mystic notoriously excel at is masking emotional lyrics with upbeat, driving-with-the-windows-rolled-down kind of melodies. Their double-side single, ‘3-Way Heartbreak’, which also includes the track ‘Same Old Lover’, recorded in 1983, has all that and more. While for most other contemporary bands, it’s hard to recapture the real magic of rock n’ roll, for Robert Allen and his crew, this comes easy. They grew up during rock’s golden era, hence Downtown Mystic’s music lives up to the genre’s legacy, rather than just riding on its coattails. The ‘3-Way Heartbreak’ single, on the Sha-La Music, Inc. catalog,

Sabrina Petrini: “Fucking In Love” – distinct vocal quality and lyrical mastery set in a sultry bed of mesmerizing music

Sabrina Petrini started her journey as a performer in Helsingborg, Sweden, where she owned and ran a dance school at the age of 16. She managed to write, direct and produce a musical by the time she was 19 and had a rock band under her name together with her brother Donatello Petrini. Sabrina is currently completing work in the studio with producer Gabe Lopez (James Brown, Jim Verraros, Universal) and Italian DJ/Producer Dechard, who are co-producing her solo EP expected to be released during the winter of 2015.

sabrina-petrini-400The first single off Sabrina Petrini’s solo EP, “Fucking In Love” was released February 2015. There is both a piano version and an EDM version of the single available on iTunes. “Fucking In Love” is one the most powerful and beautiful singles produced by a Swedish-born artist in a long while. And considering how prolific and consistently superb Swedish pop music artists are, this is a great achievement. Sabrina’s torch song delivery on the piano version and then mixed with all of the ‘big” modern sounds of today, on the EDM version goes right for the heart….and the throat.

Make no mistake about it, this young woman is a true artist and if she never makes another single or album, she has already delivered to the listening public, a song of truth, beauty and depth, through the medium of popular music. This has got a great sound with a melody and lyrics that will stay in your mind long after the strains of the last notes have ended.

Sabrina Petrini

Sabrina Petrini

Though she has already received many endowments, Sabrina needs no awards or accolades here, because the real winners are the ones who will play, listen and get lost in the imagery she weaves all across “Fucking In Love”. It’s hard to describe Sabrina Petrini’s music in a few words. It’s a fairy-dusting of resonating keyboards on top of an ethereal cadence, its lush instrumentals alongside precise vocal transitions from low diva seduction up to high full-throated vamp. Her music neither soothes nor satiates, but it captivates.

The music itself on “Fucking In Love” is utterly beguiling and masterfully arranged – vivid and memorable, impressionable and highly detailed. It is great headphone music too, and totally remix friendly for the best clubs in the world – as good as any classic ‘modern-pop’ single release in recent memory.

I admit that I am a little late to the Sabrina Petrini party but I’m glad to have witnessed her emotionally provoking video for the “Fucking In Love” track. Together with her distinct vocal quality and lyrical mastery set in a sultry bed of mesmerizing music, Sabrina creates a world of images and emotions. This orgasmic listening experience will no doubt reach its climax with the release of her upcoming EP… and I can’t wait!
