“BLEE” is an epic EP with ride out tunes, to lift your heart and hands in movement

A multi-talented producer, writer and performer from the Caribbean island of Montserrat, Blee started off his life instilled with values and structure. Tragedy struck his idyllic surroundings in July 1995 when the now infamous and tragic volcano erupted on the island destroying more than half the region including his childhood home. Uprooted, he moved to Canada to start a new life, he later made a move to the UK where he finally settled in London.

In addition to his skills as a producer and writer, he has set up his own independent record label/publishing company Respect Your Legacy Records, which specializes in artists from the Caribbean. His Respect Your Legacy movement which is all about encouraging people to live free from fear and getting them to live of love and extraordinary expression. Blee is fast becoming an independent artist that is making major moves in this business. He has already had his songs featured in hit American TV series such as Graceland, Lincoln Heights and True Blood. Now he has released a 6-track Ep simply entitled “BLEE”.

“BLEE” is an epic EP with ride out tunes, to lift your heart and hands in movement. Blee is one of the most talented Hip-Hop artists I’ve heard from the UK area recently. He brings a new age of sound and character to the game. This man is a powerhouse of talent. His songs vary in emotions and subjects as he combines catchiness with positivity quite well. More importantly, he’s one of the few rappers that make Hip Hop sound sophisticated.

Blee makes music that not only targets the hip hop community but he hones in on the international crossover market with his soulful singing. He has a hypnotic voice and the merging of his rapping and singing draws you in, and before you know it, he is tugging on your heart string and pulling it in every direction with his ineffable creativity and uniqueness. Blee definitely deserves mainstream success.

The production of each song is amazing and I found a couple classics on the EP, such as “Feeling Like A King”, “Something For The Pain”, “Natural Hair” and “Life”. But I love every minute of this EP, as it showcases Blee’s progression in storytelling, and syncopation of lyrical prose, helping to change my perspective on Hiphop music in the UK which has always been a touch lacking in these departments.

Moreover “BLEE” is something you can sit down and vibe to. It is a great introspective album with an uplifting, melodic design of new age hip hop.
