Love Ghost – “Pillz (The Sky is Falling)” will now appeal to a much wider audience

It’s always great to see a band evolve and branch out in new directions. What is even better is to see them succeed at this difficult endeavor. With their latest single –  “Pillz (The Sky is Falling)”, we see L.A. based alternative rock band Love Ghost continue on the path of evolution into much more than a rock band . They incorporate trap beats, rock grit and rap verses, to really diversify their sound on this recording. It’s really impressive to hear this sonic distinctiveness which demonstrates this band’s talent, and their fingers on the beating pulse of modern trends. I

This is perfect melodic R&B/Pop record, as LU and his crew know melody, quickly laying down the narrative’s overriding tone: “Girl You Know that I am down for you, in the fire shooting rounds for you, ain’t no

Gabe Lopez – “End Of The Lost Summer” deserves top level recognition!

It is extremely rare to come across an artist like Gabe Lopez, who is poised, multi-talented, bold, self-confident yet humble – and surprisingly, one whose name you should already be very familiar with. The reasons are evident. Gabe Lopez is a Billboard Top 5 singer-songwriter and producer, who has produced and written recent music for Belinda Carlisle, New Kids On The Block, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Twice, Key and other multi-platinum artists. Downtown Mystic – ‘3-Way Heartbreak’ – more than just a nostalgic listening experience!

One of the things Downtown Mystic notoriously excel at is masking emotional lyrics with upbeat, driving-with-the-windows-rolled-down kind of melodies. Their double-side single, ‘3-Way Heartbreak’, which also includes the track ‘Same Old Lover’, recorded in 1983, has all that and more. While for most other contemporary bands, it’s hard to recapture the real magic of rock n’ roll, for Robert Allen and his crew, this comes easy. They grew up during rock’s golden era, hence Downtown Mystic’s music lives up to the genre’s legacy, rather than just riding on its coattails. The ‘3-Way Heartbreak’ single, on the Sha-La Music, Inc. catalog,

Danny Dimo: “Dimhotep” rises above the rest

Danny Dimo from New Haven, CT, is a 23-year-old Hip Hop and RnB Producer making future bass beats. A few days ago Danny dropped his 6-track EP entitled, “Dimhotep”. Producers or Beatmakers, like rappers, have exploded onto the urban music landscape in droves. Hundreds of thousands of artists have set up web pages, social media pages, beat selling websites etc., attempting to sell their music, influence the industry, and take their shot at fame and success. What we have is way more producers than we need. What this means is that the supply far outweighs the demand, driving down the income and opportunity for all producers. The music industry is over saturated in almost every area.

Very few producers really stand out in today’s business. The ones who do rise above the rest, most assuredly have platinum hits under their belts. The best way for an aspiring producer to sell beats is to develop a relationship with the artists and the label A&Rs who buy beats. Selling tracks is an on-going thing, because you just never know who is buying beats and when. And because there are so many producers out here hawking beat CDs, you need to have your music in front of the decision maker at the exact moment he is buying tracks. And that is exactly what Danny Dimo has set out to do.

Danny Dimo has his own beat selling website setup with a strong catalog of Hiphop beats ready to go. He covers Trap, Electronica, R&B, Club, Dirty South, Old School and Pop among others. But considering that one out of six Americans today is a producer he has gone further than that. Danny has released his “Dimhotep” EP, which more than comfortably showcases his all-round production talents.

I consider this a 5-star EP for all sorts of reasons. Most importantly, I can listen to this entire EP without skipping a single track. Each and every track is good in its own way, and that’s hard to find in a lot of albums these days. But Danny Dimo didn’t drop any filler tracks, boring beats, or lame sounds – it’s all quality through and through. Danny is consistent on every track, and his style here, reminiscent of future ambient electronica, is refreshing to say the least.

Right through “Dimhotep”, Danny Dimo has my attention as a producer. His sound is so in your face with its wide-ranging electronic soundscapes, samples and bass-heavy beats. Every song has a unique sound to it yet the EP flows seamlessly. You’ll hear a wide range of sounds and sample variations with this EP which is a good thing.

I’ll admit I didn’t know much at all about Danny Dimo before listening to this EP, but it’s safe to say he’s gained himself another fan. Danny truly does a worthy job of creating diverse, colorful, and gritty beats. All tracks are equally listenable, and carry the same weight of musical substance. All in all I believe “Dimhotep” deserves nothing less than 5 stars for its complexity, consistency, and accessibility.
