Three Dimensional Crew represent original hip hop, straight out of Santa Cruz, CA. Tony Diamonds, John Dough and Tyl3r Durd3n have a history of ripping mics and moving crowds in the Bay Area and Santa Cruz. These rappers have developed their own sound referred to as “pull up music”, slow and menacing with deep bass, perfect for pulling up all slow to the mall, club, bar or any other spot.
After hitting us late last year with the critically acclaimed track, “Sensei”, Three Dimensional Crew is back with a brand new single, in 2016 entitled, “Goons” featuring Seraphik-G. The track feels nothing like an updated version of “Sensei”; instead, it is ten times darker and a whole lot more epic. With a great original beat, the Three Dimensional Crew trio flow over this track like water. They bring it raw and rapid as usual with some harmony and a catchy melody to match.
In my book, Three Dimensional Crew are extremely underrated and do not get the recognition they so rightly deserve. They are truly talented and the ingenious, and emotion behind their lyrics is truly felt. No one keeps it realer than Three Dimensional Crew in my opinion. With so many rap artists concerned with only what people like to hear, this trio reverse that theory with rapping from their hearts and saying what they feel. Like on the song “Goons”.
Three Dimensional Crew tells their listeners to look around at what’s really happening in this life, and they bring it on hard, lewd and crude, with just a touch of dark humor. Those are things that many new-breed rappers avoid, choosing rather to boast about their labels and their lyrical skills and trying to make people feel sorry for them. There’s too much of that in the rap industry and that’s ok on a few songs but it takes more than that to make a record that everyone will feel.
Three Dimensional Crew is lyrically superb here, sounding even more mature than previously on “Polo” or “Sensei”. The production is consistent and good, fitting their style perfectly.
Anyone who owns and thoroughly enjoys any Three Dimensional Crew releases would definitely love “Goons” featuring Seraphik-G. It is a very strong single, exhibiting all the talent, lyrics, and production that makes them great. With Tony Diamonds, John Dough and Tyl3r Durd3n as full time members, Three Dimensional Crew stand at the top with this fresh new epic track for their fans.
