Hot, smoky, bluesy, and she exudes passion. This is what real music sounds like. No dancing divas here, just authentic soul and plenty of it. Noa Deutsch has an incredible booming lead voice that will shake many an arena in the future. She’s so confidently the heart and soul of her new international single “Promise Me” and is a force to be reckoned with. And that cannot be understated.
Noa is a singer-songwriter, in the vein of other female “confessional” singer-songwriters such as Gin Wigmore, Tori Amos, Elle King and ZZ Ward. She sets the tone on “Promise Me” with deeply introspective and soul-searching lyrics.
Noa Deutsch’s voice can be both quiet and breathy, and then it’s powerful enough to melt the paint off the walls. Her songwriting is sharp and emotional, as she keeps you hanging on every word. It is very refreshing to hear an artist who truly is one; excellent vocalist, lyricist, and an adept instrumentalist too.
Her sound is essentially Alt Folk-Rock mixed with some very catchy hooks. Noa is not the typical bland, manufactured, auto-tuned, over-marketed, monotonous drivel that unfortunately populates the airwaves these days. She is a true dyed in the wool artist and musician. “Promise Me” is great on many levels, and the use of raw emotion makes this a track full of interesting ideas.
“Promise Me” is by turns, angry music, sad music, determined music, passionate music. If you’re looking for something light and poppy, keep looking. The lyrics are pure passion. You can tell Noa is signing them from her soul. You can’t deliver lyrics like this and have them sound genuine if they aren’t.
Noa feels everything when she sings, and it’s pretty hard not to simultaneously feel what she’s feeling when you listen to her music. If you’re looking for something with a hint of darkness and a lot of soul, go and find this now.
Noa is one of the most exciting artists I have come across in the past few months. What Noa Deutsch’s does extremely well on “Promise Me” is bring the song out of its wounded shell with a hard-hitting chorus, which hits you like a steroid injection to the heart.
Known in Israel as “the woman with the hat”, a reference to one of her fashionable characteristics, singer-songwriter and recording artist, Noa Deutsch, made an appearance on the TV show ‘A Star Is Born’, similar to US’s American Idol, and garnered great critical acclaim and positive reception along with a growing fan base.
The success from her TV appearance led her to an opportunity to release her debut, Hebrew album, “In The Day I Was Born” officially released in 2014. Now Noa has recorded her new international single “Promise Me” at the Village Studios in LA., and she is also working on her first international album with Grammy winning Producer Ghian Wright.
