In the midst of today’s increasingly popular fake facade, there are a few rappers that sound like they have proven their authenticity: Greenville’s very own Trinard Maxon bka Triple T DaBoss is one of them. Signed to Above Reality Records, he surfaces as one of indie hip-hop’s newly cherished and genuine street rappers. Triple T DaBoss has a brand new project out right now, entitled “A+One”, featuring YungMemphian, JonJuhlio and Blacksoul De’Vinci.
The track, clocking in at just under a 5 minute run-time, is a snapshot of Triple T DaBoss’ life. The rapper’s biggest asset is obviously his story-telling experiences, which he so effortlessly turns into quality rap music. Right from verse one, the rapping quartet don’t waste any time getting deep into the trials and tribulations of their story. Listening to the track, its clear Triple T DaBoss values rock-solid production, as this is a guaranteed speaker blower, a banger that should be bumped at loud decibels.
Playful snares and thundering bass provide Triple T DaBoss and crew the foundation on which to outline their lyrical fare. The variance in beat, doesn’t sway Maxon’s flow at all, always building up steam as he reaches the track’s climax points one after the other.
“A+One” finds Triple T DaBoss expanding on his roots and taking a step up from his 2016 release “Time Is Money”. If his acclaimed catalog is what got him here in the first place then it’s fair to say that this project doesn’t veer off course, but instead moves him to the front of the line.
He turns this latest track into a street symphony thanks in part to the well-crafted beat, but mostly due to the intense lyrical delivery that never lets up once. “A+One” is a deceptively simple, entirely infectious track that finds its proper home in the hands of Triple T DaBoss.
The Greenville artist impacts as if he was born to rap on this one. The emcee can be surprisingly versatile and nimble when he wants to be, and he makes it happen on here. These moments stand out on “A+One”, and feature Triple T DaBoss actually outperforming many of his industry peers in the process.
