Pulp’s newest track, “I Can’t Smoke In the Gallery” is a somewhat dark but calming lofi song. The laid back delivery compliments the lyrics that deal with body image issues, addiction, and mental illness. The instrumental’s slow drums and distant piano chords add to this feeling of hopelessness, but the production also manages to sound slightly optimistic. “I Can’t Smoke In the Gallery” is tranquil and personal.
The song is on all major streaming services, and you can stream it here.
