9-Year-Old Rapper, 3D Lit Ice On His Way To Becoming Next Big Hip Hop Star, Releases First Studio Single
Dominic Derwin Downs also known as 3D Lil Ice is super excited to release his first recording ever, Never Seen Those. Just like every other talent, music doesn’t discriminate and the 9-year-old could be well on his way to fame and fulfilment as he pursues his passion. As a lover of fashion, his new song reflects his thoughts on fashion, lifestyle, school and confidence.
According to 3D’s step-father, Ronald (Reno Hussle) Beaulieu, “We used to ride around in my car listening to beats just kidding around freestyling.” As the oldest of his siblings, he and his step-dad joked around a lot until he asked him how he would feel if they could make a real song. In Ronald’s words, “He was so excited!”
3D grew by listening and separating different sounds before eventually making a decision to make a career out of music. He went ahead to work on his passion, made it his craft and upon gaining confidence in his talent, set out to release his first single.
Narrating how he became confident; his step-father revealed the conversation they had going over the song right before they got into the studio. He made 3D understand that he couldn’t go into the studio sounding like he didn’t know what he was doing. He said, “Hey now, you can’t go to the studio sounding like you are reading off a paper”. 3D Lil Ice agreed to that. “You got to know it like you know your name,” Ronald added.
They get to the studio and when the engineer asked 3D if he was ready, his response was, “Yeah and I don’t need no paper!” 3D controlled the beat, taking charge in the studio like a professional that has recorded for years. Reciting lyrics off the dome, he layered the track to be one awaiting greatness.
At 9 years of age, 3D Lil Ice of New Orleans, LA wields an almost professional skill in lyricism and melody alongside his outstanding talent and his love for games. Merging his passion for music and his love for fashion, he is what his mates will call a ‘cool kid,’ holding his own down on every front.
He was recently awarded the JR Beta Award out of all the 3rd Graders at school and he was 1 out of 7 kids to receive it. He is also a three-time honor roll student. Right from childhood, he quickly developed a strong pull to hip hop.
The late Juice Wrld, 21 Savage, NLE Choppa, Lil Baby and Da Baby are a few of the rappers he would get inspiration from. This turned into an unexplainable love for music and the fashion that is associated with the industry.
