Mar- K is a hidden gem, an American R& B singer and dancer, former member of Public Announcement who is growing a reputation as R&B’s best kept secret. Born and raised in Cincinnati, OH, he is 1 of 6 children. His formal background began at age eight when he began dancing and singing in the church choir. Mar-K began performing in local talent shows with dance group Murder Roc, in and around Cincinnati, Ohio. During the summer of 1992, he sang for the first time in the talent show “Jodeci Forever My Lady.” After winning Cincinnati Best of the Best Talent Show he decided to take singing seriously.
Mar-K joined an R &B group, “Deeper than Black”; they traveled on tour to Chicago after being discovered in his hometown by Public Announcement. After a year on the road, Mar-K and the group decided to go separate ways. In 1999, Mar-K recorded background vocals for Public Announcement’s second album, “Don’t Hold Back”. Mar-K Joined Platinum recording group Public Announcement and traveled the world after recording “When the Smoke Clears”.
Singer and songwriter, Mar- K has maintained success in the music industry for over 2 decades as a member of Platinum recording group Public Announcement. To date, Mar- K has opened up for some of the world’s greatest R&B groups Next, Silk, Dru Hill, 112 and Keith Sweat to name a few.
