If you tried to get into Khaesarap on March 14, you already know the vibe. It was packed, loud, one big reunion. After months of rumors and a quiet spell for the band, the DQats crew didn’t just show up. They absolutely leveled the place. It was a night where the sweat is dripping off the walls and nobody cares because the groove is just that good. It was such a runaway hit that they had no choice but to announce a “Part 2” for April 25. The word is officially out.
The real story of the night, though, was Dimple. For the past few months, the local music scene in the South of France has felt her absence. She’s been dealing with a medical condition that kept her off the stage and out of the spotlight, and honestly, the followers were starting to get restless. There’s an electric spark she brings to a room that you just can’t replicate with a guest singer. Seeing her back under the stage lights, moving with that same signature fire, was the moment everyone had been waiting for. The heart of the DQats is back in her element, and she hasn’t missed a single beat.

While the spirit of the band is familiar, the lineup has seen a bit of a shake-up lately, and it’s clearly working. The new chemistry is remarkably tight for a group that’s just hitting its stride in this new configuration. You’ve got Paulo holding it down on the keys, bringing a soulful layer to the sound that blends perfectly with Marel’s heavy-hitting energy on the drums. Then there’s John Paul, or “Boloy” as everyone knows him, who is on the guitar. Rounding out the rhythm section and taking over the mic is Ross on bass and vocals.
If you’ve been following the band since their early days playing spots like L’Octave in Nice or that show out in the Sophia Antipolis tech-hub at Sophia Tahanan, you know they’ve always had a knack for creating “had to be there” moments. They’ve caught the eye of international press before, with sites like BroadwayWorld and the New Edge Times picking up and Dimple’s undeniable stage presence. They have a history of turning a standard gig into a full-blown event, and that reputation is exactly why the line was out the door on March 14.
But there’s something different this time. It was more grounded, and definitely more urgent. Maybe it’s because of everything Dimple has fought through to get back on that stage, or maybe the band just feels they have something to prove with the new members. Whatever it is, the “Part 1” show was a massive success because the community actually showed up for them. People were dancing in every available inch of space, from the front to the back of the bar. The demand for a second night was basically a foregone conclusion before the final set was even over. The crowd wasn’t ready to go home, and the band wasn’t ready to stop.
Mark April 25 on your calendar. It’s the same place, the same crew, but likely with even more intensity now that they’ve got that first “comeback” under their belt and the nerves have settled. With Dimple leading the charge again, it’s going to be one for the books. DQats Band is officially in their second act, and if you missed the first round, don’t make the same mistake twice.
