The composer community Sum Of All Music has released their new compilation album, Sum Of All Christmas 2, now available on all music platforms. The new release includes 12 tracks of original Christmas songs as well as a couple fresh renditions of traditional favorites. Credits are comprised of an exciting and diverse group of film composers, musicians, and songwriters, including smooth jazz Billboard #1 charting artist/producer Jeff Carruthers, Paul McCartney’s keyboard technologist and composer, Howard Howes, Santana’s musical director and bassist, Benny Rietveld, multi-award winning singer/songwriter, Katie Garibaldi, Kenny G’s mixing engineer and arranger, Steve Shepherd, film composer/orchestrator and founder of Sum Of All Music, Joseph Metcalfe, and more.
“For several years, as a group of composers and songwriters, we met weekly over breakfast in Agoura Hills, CA,” says SOAM founder Joseph Metcalfe. “Due to the circumstances of 2020, the in-person events shifted to virtual meet-ups, expanding the reach of participants. Musicians from LA, Canada, Nashville, UK, Argentina and Brazil came together weekly to collaborate and inspire music from each other. Within several months we had produced three albums, over 150 pieces of music and pooled our talents together to create the Sum Of All Music library.”
Sum Of All Music continues to build their music library in order to provide filmmakers and other content creators with original music for their projects, as well as release full-length albums.
The composer collective’s festively themed albums are more than just compilations of individual artists though. They’re also a camaraderie of collaborations, music makers from different career paths and genres joining together to create for the joy of the craft.
Award-winning singer/songwriter and SOAM’s resident music supervisor Katie Garibaldi says, “The thing that makes Sum Of All Music so special is the collaborative spirit of the group. All the composers and songwriters are extremely supportive of each other and just love making music. It’s fun to criss-cross skills and see what kind of music emerges.”
Sum Of All Christmas 2 is out now on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Pandora, and Amazon Music. Listen here: https://li.sten.to/sumofallchristmas2
