Phenix – “Piles of Gold” ft. Sweet Poison – delivers her self-made ‘Roxul Pop’ sound!

Phenix has coined her sound as “Roxul Pop,” a self-made genre which encompasses a mixture of pop melodies, soulful infusions, tied together with a rock edge. Phenix’s theatrical and emotional performances can be seen all over, having opened for people such as Just Brittany in Houston, TX. She has also headlined at popular Nashville clubs, including Limelight, Seen, and The End. Phenix, who is currently working on her debut EP, “Meltdown”, has dropped the track “Piles of Gold” featuring Sweet Poison.

Phenix somehow combines a warm soulfulness with an electronic urban approach, while she simultaneously evokes all great singers and yet, she’s totally original. Dark and brooding, but sometimes sweet, Phenix’s strength is powerful melodies and soaring vocals draped in crossover sounds and rhythms that are somewhat surprising, in that you never know what to expect from her creativity.

Phenix is everything you could imagine…and then some. From her flaming red hair to her snow white skin, her physical affinities to fire and ice run just as deep and rampant through her music. She’s simply marvelous and really showcases great talent with a wide range of emotions. I’ve already fallen in love with the two tracks that I’ve heard so far: “Ice Cold” and “Piles of Gold”. Not only are the beats, and her voice captivating but you can really feel Phenix’s soul and passion written into these songs.

Her music is real hard not to like.  Ambient, theatrical, urban-edgy and rocking – added to her voice, which is both hauntingly poignant and breathtakingly fierce and angry, you have a blend where there are truly no wasted verses and choruses, no empty spaces, just constant incredible writing, singing and emotion.  Everything about “Piles of Gold” is perfectly crafted, and the lyrical depth put into it is unlike anything you’re likely to find in any mainstream Pop record today.

Phenix’s music is meant to be heard by everyone, and if you’re reading this, stop what you’re doing and go and buy this music now! She deserves any and all recognition she can possibly get and if you think she’s done, you’ve got another thing coming. Both “Ice Cold” and “Piles of Gold” will resonate with you in no time. They will cut deep into your mind and leave you hungry for a whole lot more!
