FERDI-F: “Shadows” – big synth stacks effectively blurs the lines between house, dance and pop

A couple of months since reviewing Italian based session drummer, recording engineer and producer FERDI-F’s dance-floor hit “Fall” ft. Lizzy, and he is back with a brand new track entitled “Shadows”. Now that the release of is upon us, the maturity of his exploration can be clearly heard. The song exhibits the most advanced evolution of electronic elements blended with FERDI-F’s natural ability for melody and catchy synth hooks.

A strong, sensual female vocal set against the backdrop of great big synth stacks effectively blurs the lines between house, dance and pop. EDM maven FERDI-F has never been one to shy away from quality songwriting and massive hooks. His material has become more aligned with the kind of pop-styled sound that will allow his star to rise. What stands out about this track is how aware FERDI-F seems to be about the current state of dance music.

His musical experience as a musician, engineer and producer has tuned his ear to both pop trends and underground sounds which allows him to release dance-floor-ready cuts that will work on Pop charts too.

With its heaving four-on-the-floor basslines, pack-in classic house vibes, and soul-stirring vocals, “Shadows” is a track that could be any EDM album’s best blend of dance-floor accessibility and blow-away topline vocal work. The female soulful timbre here seductively wraps itself around the synth stabs in a way that will entrance the ear.

However, in being able to access what dance means – rich, vibrant, thumping anthems featuring sumptuous vocal performances – FERDI-F has defied expectations and created a diverse, universal winner. If the track has any meaning whatsoever, it’s that “Shadows” is expected make the most ardent of non-dancers want to move their feet.

While electronic music on the whole remains as lively and forward-thinking as ever, the much narrower mainstream EDM market is hitting one of its driest spells in recorded memory, and as the deluge of commercial EDM drives more and more of its fans away from the main stage, it looks like FERDI-F will still have an audience when it’s all said and done!

MORE ABOUT: FERDI-F is an Italian based session drummer, recording engineer and producer with a unique approach to his blend of EDM. Boasting over 20 albums (involved as an engineer) and 10 single releases of his own material, FERDI-F set out to develop a sound that is all about connecting with listeners through high-energy release, uplifting melodies, and floor-shattering beats.
