“Millions” shows off how talented and self-assured DboySlim is!

“Millions”, the track by DboySlim, has an incendiary takeoff, wasting zero time to underscore the necessary sense of urgency through a compacted sonic boom and a room full of booty. The backdrop is made of a dynamic piano loop, skittering hi-hats, and twisting synths, while the rapper updates his dance-swaying lyricism. DboySlim is impressive to say the least, while the track absolutely bumps. He creates an intense atmosphere that makes you want to jump around and groove. “Millions” shows off how talented and self-assured DboySlim is, and how he can probably live up to any hype you want to put

Andree Cassielll – “Alimento” – a universality that makes him a perfect fit for the modern era!

The Mexico City native, Andree Cassielll, possesses a down-to-earth humility in his vocal tone that makes his storytelling raps feel like they’re always coming from a place of truth over fiction. Considering the producer and artist, predominantly sings and raps in Spanish, which I cannot understand, that’s an impressive feat. The trap-inspired beats flicker in and out as Andree becomes more invested in his storytelling, and it truly feels like you’re on the phone with a rambling friend. He’s a poet, capable of transporting you somewhere otherworldly with his sound. His music has a genuine fluidity, and if he continues

EH – “Mirrors” lets it fly with the fret-board work to thoroughly rock you!

Baltimore rock guitar ace EH reaffirms his top-of-the-heap status on his new 7 track album “Mirrors”. It’s a superlative set of new music full of tightly-written, engaging instrumentals that don’t need a singer up front to rock hard and hold your attention. This type of writing is EH’s trademark, and is one of the main reasons he will develop a audience. While many other technically-proficient rock guitarists mainly play for other guitar players, EH seems to play for the people. He relies less on continuous shredding and more, on dynamically impacting riffs. EH gets us going with his opening track, “Pounding

Boonie Mayfield – “While Black (Red Light, Blue Light, E’s and R’s)” – sentiments nurtured by a history of prejudice

Solomon Vaughn aka Boonie Mayfield has always traded dazzlingly intricate verses, intellectual thoughts and propulsive rhymes, over inventive, nonlinear productions, and his latest release “While Black (Red Light, Blue Light, E’s and R’s)” re-proposes that peerless aesthetic, while adding an ulterior dose of consciousness, and reinforcing his hard-won authenticity. “This song is a 2-part storyteller based on some of my personal experiences with racism; from getting racially profiled by police, dealing with stereotypes while dating and the ugly side of interacting on social media,” explained Boonie. “I was inspired to display some of the scenarios I’ve gone through on a

Sassy Vee – “In My Dreams” has a fantastic chill dance rhythm running its course

Longing, hope, and a need to believe in reality, pour out of “In My Dreams”, the new singer by singer-songwriter Sassy Vee. It’s a clear, accomplished cry from the heart, exorcising its illusions by declaring them bluntly. “In my dreams we’re together. Holding hands and making plans forever. I wish it were true, but I cannot be with you. You have another.” The song introduces Sassy’s strengths: a voice with sultry intensity, songwriting that goes directly to the point and a production that is well aware of both EDM and Pop. The song’s arrangement is lucid and uncluttered, placing all

Getting that news, feeling that pain, losing sleep over the things we see in the world, grieving the loss of loved ones. ’The Heavy’ comes into our lives in many ways, and we have the power to lighten the load for each other. We all have opportunities, big or small, to be the

Maki – “Atlas Hacked” is as substantial as it metaphysical, in its approach

It’s sometimes hard to find the words that accurately bring justice to avant-garde electronic works. With an artist like Maki you almost only have to mention his name for fans of the underground independent scene, to understand the potential for a great album of music. Maki should be an instantly recognizable global name within the mainstream electronic world of sound. His latest release, “Atlas Hacked”, is a classic album in the making. And I do not say this lightly. There is a growing body of research that has examined the impact on adolescents and adults of internet and social media

The Silver Bayonets: “BRAVEFACE” – fantastic Adrenalin pacing of the album

Listening to the brand new album “BRAVEFACE”– which is set to release the 13th of April 2018 – by The Silver Bayonets is like climbing up and own a series of steep hills. The flow, the trip, the atmosphere, the anticipation, gives the album a fantastic undulating mood all its own. The music is more than badass guitar riffs and pounding drums; it has a feel and life unique to itself. And that is what makes the album spectacular. Like most of the band’s music, “BRAVEFACE” isn’t just something to listen to; it’s something to experience. Hype aside, this album really does lack any significant flaw. The songs are all well written, well arranged, and the track order as a whole is well laid out. Dave Draper (The Wildhearts, The Professionals, Kerbdog), the album’s producer, couldn’t be a better match for the band. The guitars, drums, bass and vocals all sound great. Those things being said, “BRAVEFACE” is an incredible album full of great music, feel, and groove which is infused by its players – Kabir Sheikh (Guitar & Vocals), Ross Guy (Bass & Vocals) and Enzo Cuticchia (Drums & Vocals).

“Real Like You” starts the journey. The incredibly high-quality guitar-driven music beats all the garbage on the airwaves today. Though it will probably receive little mainstream recognition, this is a mind-blowing alternative and melodic piece that sets a new standard for the genre. Or rather, takes us back to the classic standards set by the legendaries of the genre.

Track two, “Storms Inside” will absolutely blow you away as you get dragged into an almost punk rock behemoth. Four minutes of phenomenal drive, hard-nosed riffs and an incendiary guitar solo that is stunning to listen to. As The Silver Bayonets jump into the forward momentum rock of “Time Machines”, you realize that every song on “BRAVEFACE” has its own style, flavor, and sound.

Yet at the same time, the album has a cohesive feeling to it, which makes it more enjoyable to listen to start to finish instead of track by track. This is due in part to the fantastic Adrenalin pacing of the album, which switches from heavy and extreme to catchy and rocking, almost on a track by track basis. As the album changes, so too does the accompanying vocal style, which range from soaring harmonies to high pitched croons and back again without a hitch.

It’s a good thing too, because the vocals are often what seems to be driving the album forward, pushing towards the next big climax. This sort of sustained momentum – which only takes a brief break in the first half of “Inside The Jar” – is a rare find, and what’s more, it’s done brilliantly. A tall order for a band that’s only released a pair of albums thus far.

The members of The Silver Bayonets are no slouches when it comes to their given instruments. Listen to how they drive the power behind “World Slow Down”, or execute the fantastic nuanced arrangements of the album’s two standout tracks, “Sour” and “How We Heal”. But for all the band’s performing skills, this isn’t why “BRAVEFACE” is such a strong album. No, this is due to the bands incredible song writing prowess.

Full of fresh intensity. There are moments that challenge you to wrap your head around exactly what’s going on, and equally numerous times that you’ll be swept away by anthemic choruses. Much of the album plays as if there’s a ton of energy waiting to be released, which then bursts forth in a moment of bliss. This is pretty evident on “Fake” and “Suffocating Me”, another one of the album’s extreme standouts.

The album ends on an upbeat and melodic note with “Domino”. Despite the turbulent energy and untamed song structures, “BRAVEFACE” has a knack for inviting successive listens without becoming overbearing. That inspiration is definitely on display everywhere here, as the ingenious moments throughout the album’s playtime unravel with determination. With this album, The Silver Bayonets has shown not only talent and vision, but the patience to let those qualities bring it to the fore of alternative rock, where the band is proving it belongs.
