Julian Kerins is a New York based singer-songwriter whose music is the end result of an eclectic amalgam of influences that have been centered around a Rock backing. His latest debut EP Maelstroms has reached the ears of this writer to wondrous effect. The EP blends Classical, Opera, Avant-garde, Folk, some Eastern influence and even a touch of Jazz to create a beautiful menagerie of melancholic delight.
If you’re looking for an overwhelmingly passionate listening experience that just may leave you in tears (with the heart wrenching operatic ballad “In Billowing Skies” or the simply monolithic hard Rock foray that is “Aisles to Melancholy”) then this EP is made for you.
Julian Kerins is the primary composer, guitarist, vocalist, and frontman to the Indie Rock trio. He truly has a voice to rival the greats and is a technically apt guitarist as well. The trio has recently played at notable festivals such as SXSW and Great South Bay Music Festival. They have won competitions, awards, played and gotten airplay on FM & XM radio stations in the US & EU, members have toured the US & EU, gone viral, charted on Isina’s Billboard Top 100, become finalists in 2018’s International Songwriting Competition, and worked with award-winning producers that have worked with Grammy award-winning artists such as Kimbra, Mars Volta, Ice-T, and Metallica. The list goes on to include nominees such as Alice in Chains as well as a litany of other musical greats.
Julian Kerins is a name to watch out for in the coming years. He has an active YouTube channel and is on every major streaming service including Spotify and Apple Music.
