J Tizzle (Jeffery Townsend Sr.) is a driven performer who set out to create a unique blend of hip-hop, electronica and R&B. He was born in South Bend, In., and began producing music in 2004. Not being your regular hip-hop artist, J Tizzle always has a desire to make a grand statement when he releases new material. The mix of smooth flowing raps and gritty impassioned vocals makes just about each and every song of his a five star event. The verses, the choruses, the instrumentals, every aspect of each song is overwhelmingly satisfying to the ears. J Tizzle has great music and he just leaves you wanting more. Between his YouTube videos, songs, and albums, just wow! This guy is going places and we must stay with him on the bandwagon before he takes off to the next level.
His latest track, “Fan-Ta-See” (Feat.KayJay), veers from swaggering soul to eerie electronica. It’s a mega-smooth track loaded with gorgeous vibes. J Tizzle continues to deliver his unique style that bends rap and melodic singing. The track has hip-hop inspired instrumentation but goes a different direction.
Through this unique blend, J Tizzle and KayJay talk about a romantic fantasy. The echoed vocals and the beat intertwine into a wavy melody incorporating an ambient synth pad that mixes both chorus and reverb, to a lush and deep sound. The vocals are very dynamic starting low and slowly building up. I love how it fluctuates with the beat.
Right from the start you can really feel this beat and hear the strong emotion in the vocals. Perhaps the reason J Tizzle’s music is so wildly appealing to the ear, is that it has no bounds. Seamlessly blending genres and pulling inspiration from classic sounds, he sets no limits for himself.
Here he takes lust and heartbeat by the throat, and makes a slow-jamming banger out of it. The hypnotic beat hooking listeners from beginning to end. On the outside, he may appear on the surface similar to other urban artists, but J Tizzle, together with KayJay, is able to master the art of producing not only a catchy song but strong and meaningful lyrics that touch his listeners emotionally.
R&B harmonies, a poppy chorus, and not to mention an impacting singing voice; the track has a catchiness that can’t be ignored production-wise either. J Tizzle is a very versatile, diverse musician that seems to infuse his influences and likes into his music from multiple directions.
He loves music, and you can see it and hear it every time he is on a track. The perfect follow up to his previous release, “Fan-Ta-See” (Feat.KayJay) illustrates J Tizzle’s continuing development as an artist and as a producer on his journey of expanding his brand.
Which is why all of his songs are equally amazing, no matter the tempo or the purpose. The diversity in themes and genres in every track introduces a new and better J Tizzle to the world on each occasion, and adds depth to his personality in and out of the spotlight.
