Will Wood – “Laplace’s Angel”, from the “The Normal Album”

Will Wood’s voice is the absolute gem of his latest single “Laplace’s Angel”, which comes off the album “The Normal Album”. His high octaves sprinkle some of that classic vocal magic over the track, matching the pumping pulse that beats throughout the song, like some sort of great big glittering heart. Behind it, a sweeping brassy backdrop filled with baroque pop, art-rock and Latin jazz flavors. Right from the get-go, the song transitions into a driving, swinging rhythm that catapults you into the bombastic choruses, filled with layered harmonies and soaring falsetto interludes.

Infused with the kind of vibrancy and color more often reserved for a carnivalesque-fueled atmospheres, “Laplace’s Angel”, proposes Will Wood as an artist with oddball pop sensibilities, a propensity for the flamboyant, and the theatrical. Moreover, his extensive musical knowledge is displayed in full force on this track. The music video, which was directed by Wood himself, features real human remains provided by famed collector Cole Mozelesky, brought back to life through stop motion animation.

“The Normal Album”, from which the single has been taken, was successfully funded on Indiegogo within a day of its launch. The album was produced by Jonathan Maisto, with an appearance from multi-platinum producer Matt Squire (Panic! At The Disco, Ariana Grande, and One Direction etc.)
