Menes Rebazzar Kedar – “Quantum Helix: Fractal Galaxy” – A voyage into the development of ideas and emotions!

The New York-based artist Menes Rebazzar Kedar fuses a potpourri of musical flavors on his new album “Quantum Helix: Fractal Galaxy”. From hip-hop to blues, rock, soul and electronic stylings, the artist crafts 9 eclectic tracks that defy strict categorization. The music on this album isn’t just a critic or fan pleaser but it’s clear that what Kedar wanted most was to make a recording that actually carries some vestige of meaningful depth. A truly excellent work sounds like putting a stethoscope up to the heart and mind of its creator. The album is very ambitious, and provides one of the most promising, progressive and likeable new sounds in hip-hop.

From its bombastic title to its complex narration, in which Menes Rebazzar Kedar proceeds to merge themes of science and spirituality, “Quantum Helix: Fractal Galaxy” vies for both a big media platform acceptance and indie credibility. The richly layered production together with Kedar’s dexterous rhyming and singing are too good to ignore.

Kedar has a distinct talent for vocal pacing; he never rushes his words, and even when he starts flowing faster, he is still able to enunciate perfectly. His singing too, soon proves to be a winner through the sheer force of its melody and intense phrasing.

The opening track, “Zero Sum Game” pulses like a powerfully beating heart, growing in volume and drawing you in as it reaches its apex. It immediately shows Menes Rebazzar Kedar’s commitment to originality. Dripping in quality, the high artistic level is maintained on the machine-gun rapping of “Inception”, the game-changing groove of “Fractal Galaxy 001”, and the bone-crushing rock crunch of “Ya Never Know”.

At the halfway mark, we’re met by the harmonic soul of “Heaven Is Here”. It’s a remarkable song that within the album stands as a turning point, towards wider accessibility but also vitality. “Fractal Galaxy 002” sounds as if Menes Rebazzar Kedar is flexing and stretching his skills, exploring untouched areas of his artistic psyche and finding things to turn into songs.

Once again, on “Clouds Of Smoke” Kedar demonstrates the dimensions of his vocal and musical stylings, which have immeasurable range, as he rides the colorful and exciting music to great heights. He slows the pace on the soulful “Quantum Helix”, which for me, together with the previous track, make up the best two songs on the album. Both of these songs characterize mind-bending experiences.

As we close in on the final song, “Fractal Galaxy 003”, it is easy to conclude that the production on this album is, put very simply, a voyage. A voyage into the development of ideas and emotions. The music substantially layered and chock-full of surprises. In general, “Quantum Helix: Fractal Galaxy” feels like an alternative rap and rock fusion. It often switches up on you but you’re still able to stay connected.

Menes Rebazzar Kedar’s voice is also a very important instrument in these songs. Whether singing or rapping, Kedar brings life into his words with melody, harmony and a creative flow. “Quantum Helix: Fractal Galaxy” is one of those pieces of music that cannot be overlooked.
